Sloan’s Lake and Edgewater Farmer’s Market

Standard

Hey there special reader!  Thanks for swinging by for either your first visit or, if you’re my mom, your daily check of your middle child’s attempt to chronicle her life now that she lives across the country.  Either way… howdy!

As I mentioned in a previous post, it is REALLY important to get out of the house and experience life even though you may not know anyone really well yet.  Well, we went out to another meetup this past Thursday, and it was pretty darn cool!  After a long walk earlier in the day, I wasn’t super excited to go on another 3 mile walk around Sloan’s Lake, but I’m so glad that I did!  It was fantastic!

So beautiful right?

It felt like there was a whole garden in my sink!

Sadly, I didn’t get any pictures of the actual farmer’s market, but I did get some of the haul I brought home!

Only 10 dollars for all these goodies!  Can’t beet (hahaha get it?) that price!I’m pretty excited for all the creations that I can make with these delicious veggies!  So far I’ve made delicious rice and spiced stir fry veggies, broccoli with tahini dressing, lemon and lime slow cooked veggies, and some super salads!  I’m especially looking forward to making something tasty with that acorn squash!  Roasted acorn squash with an almond sunflower crust, anyone?

I hope you have a great weekend and eat at your veggies!

I apologize for having to post this twice, but I’m still working out the Kinks of posting these pictures… and I want to make sure that they can all be seen.  Thank you for your patience.  -Ash
